9:16 pm	Update Today I graduated from the IEC , so my apprenticeship is over. Now I'm a Journeyman electrician in all 50 states , just in time for all the jobs to dry up like a raisin in the sun. 11:58 pm	Fanboy Angst It's time to say this , it's time for someone to say it , and no one else is going to... Boycott the new Star Trek Move. Do NOT pat money for it , turn off the television when it comes on ( a month after the release ) ,in no way support the efforts of the studios to pass the twitching motion of a horse beaten vigorously enough for life. It's not. It's not the Telling of the Beginning of Kirk , nor it is a "Re imagining" of the characters , it's a way for a lazy exec to pull money out of your pocket. Recycling an old favorite is the entertainment industry way of insulting YOU , the Geek , the Fanboy , the person who wants to imagine the possibility in the future. Complain all you want about Firefly being canceled with more stories to tell , or how the Dresden Files needed a fair shake to get it's legs ( both true BTW ) but don't say how great BSG is in the same conversation. While the decision makers know that they can recycle shows from the past , new shows will never get a decent chance. They will never have the chance to find that voice , the new concept that can be more than just another spin off or rehashed garbage. This movie is no more Star Trek than a concert given in the 90's was Woodstock. I never heard Hendrix play the national anthem , and MTV wasn't around then. Neither ( for many of the same reasons ) is this anything like Star Trek , the ground breaking show that has commentary on War , peace , the roll of a unified government , and race relations. I know many of you out there are going to say " but it can't be that bad" and my answer is in two parts : 1) Yes it can. It's going to SUCK, like really teh suck , the sound you hear is your soul dieing a little because something you loved is being s*** on. Remember Attack of the Clones ? Remember how much you wanted to believe it could save something you loved ? remember the feeling of dread in your stomach when it turned in to the Sound of Music? This will be worse. Starship Troopers bad . Lost in Space bad. Maby even Wing Commander bad. 2) Is that the standard we as fans want? it doesn't suck that bad? We are the ones who made this , we gave it the legs to get this far. It gave us something to believe in when there was not much of anything in the world to hold on to . It showed us a possible world with hope and determination , the pride of the human spirit. These are the things I read , watch , and listen for in Science Fiction and Fantasy , and if this is what you want , then demand better the only way we can. 8:30 pm	How do you say geek in french? In Lyons they are playing "Urban Pack Man" where people dress up as pack man and ghosts , and then run around in a complex game of tag. Immagin free energy for anyone , with no polution and about the size of a CPU. Cars , planes , houses , everything could run with 0 emmissions , and the price of everything wold go down , since it wouldn't have fule built in. 11:13 pm	Graduation Today , I finished the last class for my AS in copmuter science. I find out Fri. If i passed , but I'm very confident, since I had a 92 going into the final. 8:11 pm	Pumpkin Carving Thank you to everyone who came out and carved , or just admired the carvings, it was great to see evryone. THose who came out are to numerous to metion , but it was particularly nice to see the proffesor in person after hearing so much about her. I wanted to be more involved, more there for people , but I was so tired after working 5 , then cooking , it was a bit mutch. I'm sorry if anyone felt slighted but I was just to whipped to really host the way I'm used to. Comeing off the weekend at the hills, and then this was crazy but worth it. I have proccesed Samhain and it was a Roger Waters concert from first person perspective. I dont think it was bad neccissarily , just dramatic as the end of the year can be. Many things have changed from six months ago and things are in flux , sometimes wildly so. It can be confusing to keep up with. On the brighter side , things have been good with the relationshipss in my life for the most part. I was tisked for being overly affectionate at the party , but I realy did tone it down. 10:20 pm	Divinity I had a thought I shared with my mentor, and it's enough of a though I'll put it here in case I want to expand it later. There is a touch of the divine in all of us (thou are god, thou are goddess) however how much and what from is up for debate. A theory: We are all divine in the same sense that artists place themselves into a masterwork. This world, this existence as we perceive it is the art form, the "piece" of the Divinity. We then are the paints upon the canvas, the pigment and the medium of delivery for this art form. Our added bonus is that we, as intelligent beings, can appreciate from within the perfection of this piece of work. Looking at this work, it becomes clear that in order to fully appreciate this there must be and should be all elements in this piece for it to encompass the whole. A bounded, infinite universe has the room within it for both the great sorrow and the great glory that is man. Poetry, art, science, all attempts to explain the mystery that is creation and all falls short. Math as a tool is limited to the expressions created in it, Art is as limited as the experiences of the individual artist, and Science can describe, but not conveys the pure Joy of the universal constant, the majesty of a sunrise can't be contained in an equation. Magic then becomes what is left to attempt this. The leap of faith required to attempt, the act of will to activate it, the visualization of something greater, these are the things that may tap the divine within, that can reach into the soul and wrench out the small section of divinity, shaping and reforming the void into something other than what it was. Much like Zero-point energy it brings something from what appears to be nothing, at least nothing related to it's self. (Comment on this)

8:44 am	Life in General Things are good , very good and it's nice to know that if I have something to complain about I can polace it in the very minor catagory. This is of course about alot of difficult work on communication and relationships that gets to be uncomfortable but still....good. Ususaly in the winter I go into hybernation , but this year I'm going to asiduously avoid it , simply because I enjoy the people around me. Thank you all. (Comment on this)

2:10 pm	I find my self waking up to the possibilitys of the world around me, seeing and experianceing things I'm not realy sure about. Though these events are stimulating , it's a litte intimidating to. I'm enot entirely sure about the possibilitys of majic in the world, but some things have happened recently that are giving me pause to reconsider. I'm not sure what to do about it. hmmm... 5:54 pm	Construction.... I know I'm not the only one who works in construction, but this week I earned the MAN points for being a construction worker! We are doing the slab work for Henry County H.S. . For anyone who does not know, this consists of laying pipe , then tying it , and covering it with gravel. This is all taking place next to curing concrete. The Temperature today toped out t 102, the hottesed day in seven years. in addition , the curing proccess for concrete is an exothermic recation , pumping out heat and mosture as the lime cures. While this is going on , trucks also need to be unloaded , PVC carried to and from locations , and other sundry activitys that can only be done outside. I called a friend to kevech and he said "you want some cheese with that wine" to which I answered " it was 103 today , YES I WANT CHEESE! , I want cheese , crackers , and a bunch of grapes to damn it!
